Shamsul – Ulama Memmorial (SUM) College of Teacher Education is situated in a peaceful and picturesque area near Mamba mosque Muzhappala, Chakkarakkal. It is nearly 17km away from Kannur Railway Station and Bus stand and 10km away from the ongoing Kannur airport. The college now functioning in a newly constructed building and comes under the jurisdiction of Ancharakkandy Grama Panchayath.  The college started functioning during the academic Year 2006 – 2007. SUM College of teacher education is a Self Financing Institution where 50% seats are filled under merit quota and the remaining 50% under management quota. SUM College of Teacher Education is an institution managed by Jamia Shamsul – Ulama Al Islamiya, Mattannur. It is a minority co-educational institution owned and run by by Jamia Shamsul Ulama Memmorial Al Islamiya, Mattannur..

Our Objectives 
SUM College of Teacher Education is set up with the broad objective of providing education for the prospective teachers, socially committed intellectually competent and morally upright teachers of tomorrow. The institution will nurture each student to actualize his potentialities, to become efficient, skillful, competent, responsible, and dedicated to profession of teaching and to the community. The college is opened to all students of all castes and creeds, providing amenities for the creation of healthy cosmopolitan atmosphere in the campus. Our mission is to provide educational facilities to poor students especially girls who are deprived of proper educational avenues.
