On January 8, 2020, SUM College of Teacher Education hosted an online session to discuss the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The session was led by Dr. Jayasree C.V., the principal of SUM College. The NEP 2020 aims to bring transformational reforms to the Indian education system, focusing on aspects such as holistic development, multidisciplinary education, and the integration of technology in classrooms. Dr. Jayasree highlighted key changes proposed by the policy, including a shift towards a more flexible curriculum, the emphasis on vocational education, and the introduction of multiple entry and exit points in higher education. Participants had the opportunity to engage in a detailed discussion on how these changes could be implemented at the institutional level. The session provided a platform for educators to share their insights and prepare for the effective adoption of the new policy, ensuring that the college remains at the forefront of educational innovation.
