On July 27, 2022, SUM College of Teacher Education’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized an interactive session on “Coping Up Skills.” The session, conducted by George Joseph, Assistant Professor of Education, aimed to equip attendees with essential strategies to manage stress and enhance their coping mechanisms.
The event focused on various techniques to handle personal and professional challenges effectively. Professor Joseph emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and developing resilience to overcome obstacles. Through interactive discussions, participants explored practical methods such as time management, goal setting, and mindfulness exercises to improve their overall well-being.
The session also highlighted the significance of seeking support from peers and mentors. Professor Joseph encouraged attendees to build a strong support network and to communicate openly about their difficulties. This collaborative approach, he noted, can significantly alleviate stress and foster a sense of community.
Participants engaged in group activities designed to simulate real-life scenarios, allowing them to apply the coping strategies discussed. These hands-on exercises facilitated a deeper understanding of the concepts and promoted active learning.
Overall, the interactive session was well-received, with attendees expressing appreciation for the practical insights and supportive environment. The event underscored SUM College of Teacher Education’s commitment to fostering the personal and professional development of its staff and students.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the IQAC to enhance the educational experience and support the holistic development of the college community.
