On 10 July 2022, the IQAC of SUM College of Teacher Education held a discussion on NAAC criteria led by Assistant Professor Divakaran P.E. The session aimed to enhance understanding and implementation of quality standards in higher education. Key objectives included familiarizing faculty and staff with the NAAC accreditation process, providing insights into the seven criteria, and discussing strategies for institutional improvement.
The discussion began with an introduction to NAAC and the importance of accreditation. Criterion I: Curricular Aspects emphasized a dynamic, evolving curriculum and the flexibility of the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS). Criterion II: Teaching-Learning and Evaluation focused on effective teaching strategies, inclusive learning, continuous assessment, and teacher development. Criterion III: Research, Innovations, and Extension encouraged fostering a research culture, building facilities, and engaging in community outreach.
