Report on Faculty Development Program Organized by IQAC, Sum College of Teacher Education on August 11, 2023 

Introduction: 

The Faculty Development Program organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sum College of Teacher Education took place on August 11, 2023. The primary objective of the program was to enhance the teaching and learning methodologies of the faculty members by introducing them to various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools. The resource person for the program was Mr. Abdul Hameed T, a former faculty member at the Royal Commission College and Institute in Saudi Arabia. 

Resource Person

Mr. Abdul Hameed T, the esteemed resource person for the program, brought a wealth of knowledge and experience from his tenure at the Royal Commission College and Institute in

Saudi Arabia. His expertise in utilizing ICT tools for effective teaching and learning added significant value to the program. 

Program Content

The program focused on a range of ICT tools that can be leveraged for teaching and learning purposes. Some of the prominent tools discussed during the program were: 

1. Google Meet: The tool’s capabilities for conducting virtual classes, webinars, and interactive sessions were highlighted. 

2. ChatGPT: The potential of AI-powered chatbots like ChatGPT in enhancing student engagement and providing personalized assistance was explored. 

3. Google Slides: The versatility of Google Slides in creating visually appealing presentations for educational content was demonstrated. 

4. Moodle: The benefits of Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Moodle in managing course materials, assignments, and assessments were discussed. 

5. Google Classroom: The features of Google Classroom for seamless communication, assignment distribution, and tracking student progress were presented.

6. Quizlet: The role of Quizlet in creating interactive quizzes, flashcards, and study materials to aid in student learning was emphasized. 

Program Impact

The Faculty Development Program proved to be highly beneficial for all participants, including faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff. The insights shared by Mr. Abdul Hameed T regarding the various ICT tools opened new avenues for innovative teaching methodologies. Participants gained a deeper understanding of how to integrate technology into their teaching practices to make the learning experience more engaging and effective.
