Report on Health and Sports Club Inauguration at SUM College of Teacher Education

The Health and Sports Club of SUM College of Teacher Education was formally inaugurated on November 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the college auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Srivin N, an esteemed intervarsity kho kho player, who brought great enthusiasm and energy to the occasion.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter dedicated to promoting health and sports within the college. Mr. Abhinand K, Assistant Professor and the Teacher-in-Charge of the club, welcomed the gathering and set the tone for the event.

Dr. C.V. Jayasre, Principal of SUM College of Teacher Education, delivered the presidential address. She emphasized the importance of physical fitness and sports in the holistic development of students. Her insightful words inspired everyone to actively participate in the club’s activities and make the most of the opportunities it would offer.

The chief guest, Srivin N, shared his experiences and the vital role sports played in his life. Krishna Kumar, Assistant Professor of Social Science, delivered a facilitation speech, appreciating the efforts of those who worked tirelessly to establish the club. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in building a vibrant and health-conscious college community.

The formal vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Abhinand K, Physical Education Teacher, who expressed his gratitude to all dignitaries, staff, and students for their support and participation. He assured everyone that the Health and Sports Club would organize various activities and events aimed at enhancing physical well-being and sportsmanship among students.

The office bearers of the Health and Sports Club were introduced during the ceremony: Anju K as President, Rishan as Secretary, and Alexander E G as Treasurer. Their dedication and leadership are expected to drive the club towards achieving its goals.
